The Beauty of Faith & Patience

Updated: Jan 26, 2021

I firmly believe that faith is “synonymous” with patience; and patience is the underlying framework of faith. It is impossible to please God without faith, neither is it possible to please Him without patience. The hallmark of the success of every servant of God who walked humbly with God in the Bible and pleased God is their ability to wait on God. God created time and God does not dwell in time. God dwells in unapproachable light (1 Timothy 6:16) and inhabits eternity (Isaiah 57:15). God always sees from end to end and is never affected by time. Our timing is not His timing, neither are our desperation nor what we would regard as an emergency any emergency to God.

Practice Patience

One of the most difficult things to do in life is to wait while the clock ticks away. By waiting, I do not mean waiting with bitterness, frustration, pain and anger. But waiting with peacefulness, confidence, and cheer. There are times in life when you diligently complete all that is required of you to do, but the next critical task to complete the process and bring about your breakthrough sits with someone who does not share your sense of urgency nor understand how important that may be to you. Patience doesn't come from advanced studies in universities. Patience is not a virtue. Patience is not earned. Patience is learned through often many painful experiences in the journey of life. Haste is the poison pill of faith. Good planning and hard work lead to prosperity, but hasty shortcuts lead to poverty (Proverbs 21:5).

A closed Mouth is a closed Destiny

Speaking positive words always not only feeds your faith and inspires hope and confidence; but also reinforces your resolve as you patiently wait on God. Remember that life and death are in the power of the tongue…Proverbs 18:21. Speaking positive words and keeping a positive outlook with an attitude of praise and gratitude for what you are expecting or working towards does not do God any good but is for your sole benefit.

Everything takes a Process and every Process takes Time

You can have all the faith in the world, but if you are not patient enough to go through the necessary processes for your breakthrough or miracle to materialize, you wasted your time. Nothing just happens without due process. Everything meaningful takes a process or several processes to occur. And every process takes time, and even more time, depending on the complexity. One fact about time is that it neither recognizes nor respects our desperation no matter how dire. But with a decent practice of patience, you can be sure to cross the finish line and reap the reward.

Put on the right Garment

Faith is much easier when you put on the garments of patience, praise and gratitude. To me faith is P.P.G which translates to Patience, Praise and Gratitude. Understand that I did not say "Prayer", Praise and Gratitude but Patience, Praise and Gratitude.

As you separate yourself unto God, the natural outcome is unpopularity. It is the nature of the trade, and it comes with the package.

An ever-present Dish in God's Menu Whatever you do in life, please never give up on anything you solemnly believe that God can help you accomplish. And for everything you believe that God can do for you, please be prepared and be ready to wait for it. Anything that is worth having is worth waiting for. Delays are not denials. Though the pain of waiting may be unbearable sometimes, remember that pain is an ever-present dish in God's menu, but cheer up, for so is salt also. Those two coexist on the same menu for your own good. Cheer up, for Jesus has overcome the world. May God strengthen your faith and bless you immensely as you seek His face to know Him for Who He truly is and always will be forever. Amen.

The word of God is clear..."Weeping may endure for the night but joy cometh in the morning". It is dawn, and it is done says the Lord of Hosts. Live cheerfully.
